Save Our Green Lanes Protest - 26th August

A friend of mine has asked me to spread the news on the below, if you can make it then please do.

GREEN LANES FIGHT BACK

PEAK DISTRICT

BANK HOLIDAY SUNDAY 26th AUG.

LAZY SUNDAY……..”BACK TO TARMAC”

Calling all Greenlaner’s and supporters of the ideal that the Green lanes are for everyone. The TRF (Trail Riders Fellowship) are organizing a day of protest in the Peak District on Bank Holiday Sunday 26th August 2012.

The Peak District National Park Authority are trying to ban the use of Recreational Motorised Vehicles from the Greenlanes (BIKES, QUADS, 4 x 4’s etc) and we do not think it fair that we should step aside from our rights in favour of Horses, bicycles and walkers. We think that we should sit down and agree a management strategy that allows for ALL.

WE HAVE BEEN OFFERED BANNING

For our protest we are calling on all to visit the Peak District on Trailbikes, RoadBikes, Quads, Trikes, 4 x 4, cars, anything and Drive the tarmac’d lanes in the area of Long Causeway, the Roych and Chapel Gate. Fill the Tarmac lanes and demonstrate to the Authority that they cannot just BAN US……they have got to TALK TO US.

Protest Starts at 9.30 am.

Meeting at top of Stanage Edge at 1.00pm

Mass Ride down Stanage at 1.30pm
