A reprieve ...

... I've decided not to break my trackbike for the moment, I would like to do a few more trackdays before doing that. So, all change, my health will hopefully improve - my docs are positive about that - it will take time, but I should be back on track and would like to do a couple of days up at Cadwell, maybe a Spanish trip and then bid the bike farewell. I will be selling off my one-piece leathers though, they are just too much hassle and painful to put on/take off, my shoulders are shot and arthritic, 2-piece leathers will now be the order of the day.

Re: A reprieve ...

Short-lived reprieve for the bike, it is going to be broken and sold off because I saw an R1 that has had so much work done on it by Road and Race, and an absolute fortune spent on it and the guy has to sell it because he needs the money to pay for a new shell for his rally car - that is his job, rallying ... so I bought it and Alan and Mark said they will take the Gixer, break it properly and bring all the parts over to me the same day so I can start selling them off. This bike has had the engine tuned, a Yamaha full race factory Akra Ti exhaust system, Öhlins TTX rear shock, and revalved front end, brakes upgraded and the engine gas-flowed and ported with Yamaha factory race cams, set to mild tuning for the road though and it still makes 200+bhp .... Marchesini wheels, carbon all over the bike and a professional paintjob done by Dreamworks, full Bazzaz set-up with QS and there is more but I can't remember it right now, the guy apparently bought it new 3 years ago, used it a bit, had this work done and spent well over 10K on it, the price is my business for now ... :D Getting it next Tuesday or Wednesday. It is a road bike but can be used on track should I fancy a day here and there ... a big bang ... the only Jap marque I have never had a big bike from, doing it in style now though. :kev:

Re: A reprieve ...

The only downside is it's a well-known fact buying an R1 makes you gay, look at Carlos ... :D So in my case, I suppose the opposite will happen! Damn, and I'd worked so hard at being gay ... LOL!!!!!!

Roll on next Tuesday, got to call Adrian Flux to sort out insurance as there are so many extras that have to be covered in case of theft or accident ...

Re: A reprieve ...

KEV..at your age, you really need to swap that missile for something like My Suzuki C1800 mate.
I don't mind, a straight swap will be OK. :07:

Re: A reprieve ...

Tomorrow hopefully, there should be plenty. Picking the bike up sometime during the day and dropping it off at RnR as I have bought a CABS - blips the throttle when changing down using the clutch as a switch to trigger it - so already started modding it a bit, but not really much else to do to it.
