glad to hear your onboard mark. remember there are no salads up here just battered mars bars and anything else they can batter lol mind you, you could be lucky and find a caesar salad some where but it will most likely be battered :lmao: :lmao:

Re: Knockhill - 2014

well it was a very interesting weekend i can tell you that.

we pulled up at knockhill in the afternoon on friday and started unloading the van and not long after that mark turned up in his pimped out van. There was a ducati evening track session happening but managed to get bike in the garages and up on stands with the warmers on ready to just needing to be switched on the following morning.

Next day comes and finish taking tool down to the garage and get the warmers on, then fire up the camping stove for some tea and bacon roll. Then head to registration.

So novice group was out first, so off with the tire warmers and all and line up. so the out ont he track doing the first few laps the revs were acting up like the engine was getting clutch slip but was only happening after 8k so short shifted for the first few laps and then it seemed ok after that but then apart from after being left sitting. I feel i was riding a lot better after doing the introduction night, it gave me a good insight on what was expected and how i should be riding the bike but on the saturday we was running in reverse direction, which i must say i wasn't looking forwards to flying down the start finish straight into the hairpin. But during the week leading upto the weekender, kev gave me a hand and we sorted my front brake and i was rocking. I had so much confident with a solid front brake. Any way, did 3 of the 4 sessions in the morning and had a good time. was running a lot quicker than i was on the introduction, was also trying to hang off the bike to get my knee down but still no joy. Had scraped my boot and left foot peg tho on a few places but i guess i wasnt hanging off the bike enough. any way. in the afternoon i was did 2 sessions after lunch and on the last part of the 2nd session my engine started to sound like it was miss firing or not firing right and then the power started to drop. When i pulled the clutch in to drop down a gear so i can get myself out of the lines and crawl back to the pits, the bike cut up but as i dropped the clutch the bike bump started again. managed to get into the pit lane entrance and as i tried to get up i had no throttle at all and had to pull the clutch in and coast up the lane and the push the last section into the pit garages. so up onto the stands to see what might be up and try to start the bike to see how it was sounding but nothing. just a click as if the battery was dead. so first thought it was the alternator or reg/rec gone and running on battery power alone, so mark had a spare battery and we tried that but still the same. went to check the rear wheel and it was locked solid. tried rolling the bike off the stand and dropping the clutch to see if that would help more it but nothing. so in case one of the cylinders was hydro locked for for some reason. we stripped the tank and air box off to get to the plugs to take them out and see if we can turn then engine out like that. I left my spark plug socket at home but luckily one of the TDR guys had one i could borrow. so out with the plugs and turn the engine over by the wheel.... Nothing, rock solid. So off with the crack bolt cover and try turning the crank by hand so still nothing. so we are guess the engine had seized from over heating. as if i recall the engine was upto 120ish when i broke down. Any way this meant i had to sit out on sunday. Kev did offer to let me use his bike if needs be but i wouldn't of been happy on someone else's bike on the track in case i binned it..

So on the sunday. i gave a hand around the pits to kev and mark, as well as to a few of the TDR fella's too andthen i went off with mark's camera to try and get some pictures too. and then it was pretty much pack the van up and head home come the afternoon as it started to rain and wasn't really worth kev swapping out the wheels for wheels just for a session or so.

any way some pictures and videos are to follow at some point but have an engine to sort b4 friday's open pit day
