Fit Gilles Chain Adjusters

How to fit chain adjusters Intended to be used with Gilles instructions and your bikes owners manual. fitted adjusters to a K4 600.

Picture 1
- Loosen axle bolt
- Place on axle stand
- Undo axle bolt and remove
- Remove washer
Note: At this point I undid the rear caliper from the mounting - K4 600

Picture 2
- Loosen chain adjuster and remove chain adjuster block
- Use a mallet (or a wire brush ) to knock the spindle through.
Note: support the wheel as you do this

- Push the wheel forwards and lift the chain off the sprocket

- Remove the original chain adjustment bolt

- This is what your adjusters should look like and what you should have to fit them!

- Bolt the flat fronted adjuster into the left side of the swingarm
Note: I used the original chain adjustment bolt as my fixing bolts were missing.

Picture 7
- Put the 2 allen bolts through the adjuster and place the nuts on the end

Picture 8
- Tighten the nuts down a little and place the backing plate on the end.
- Do the allen bolts up
Note: No not allow the nuts to tighten against the adjuster!
- When the allen bolts are tight, secure them by tightening the nuts against the back plate,

Picture 9
- Repeat to fit the RH adjuster

Picture 10
- Replace the wheel, chain, brake caliper and spindle (you might need to adjust the Gilles adjusters to be able to do so)
- Adjust the chain as per the Gilles instructions
- Fit the axle nut and tighten
- Drop off of the axle stand and torque the axle nut.
