Re: back fire on over run

Mine does it all the time, its down to the PAIR valve system injecting fresh air into the exhaust headers to ignite any unburnt fuel and meet emission regs etc,you dont normally hear it cuz theres a big fook off cat and two whale cocks to quiet it down, but as mines decatted with a Yoshi race pipe it bangs and pops like a good un on the overrun :)

Re: back fire on over run

i get backfire when engine breaking down steep hills.

if your really keen on getting your bike to back fire just hit your kill switch and back on that will dump a load of fuel into you exhaust and then wait for the bang :lmao:

Just as I said, bit of air going into the exhaust system and a little extra fuel

back fire on over run

My K7 does it, actually every gixer I've owned has done it.
My last bike I raced (K1 gixer) used to bellow a good 12" flame out the can on over run entering corners now and then. VERY cool! lol :D

Re: back fire on over run

The viffer did due to a series of small holes in the collector box, where the front down pipes and the rear down pipes came in.....
Sounded nice for a while, no flames though !!

Re: back fire on over run

try riding the bike harder and in higher revs and allow for a lot of engine breaking so its pushing more unburnt fuel into the exhaust
