Scorpion Carbon Tagma

Post by Gr3ml1ns » 09 Dec 2013, 22:12

Hi guys n girls, not been on in a while but have a dumb ass question I'm really needing some help with

Don't know why but I wanted the cat and valve off my L3 and decided to read up on it. Found I could buy K9 headers that fit mine, then just a link pipe to my exhaust. Sounds simple enough but on eBay and got a little excited about a Scorpion Carbon Tagma Exhaust for a GSXR 1000 K8.

Question is will the k8 system fit the k9 header and in the right position? I'm hoping it all fits good and all I need is a new set of rest pegs cos it'll go from single to duel exhausts

Any help would be great

Don't think the pipes from the K7 / K8 will fit dude, the link pipes are differnt to those used on the K9

Think you would have to soft fit it to the bike and see what;s possible, maybe an easy cut n shut but will depend how it looks

I'm sure the sump is different pal so the headers exit mor towards the center of the bike on yours ?

I'll dive under mine tonight and take a snap so you can compare

Cheers guys, after a few days pissing about with this it looks like the end of the header sits to far to the left of the bike and keeping away from the sump. When fitted the right can sits tight to the swinging arm and the left sits 4-5 inch out from the peg. Been at it for days and without cutting and welding it's not gonna work. Not all bad tho, back on eBay and only loose a tenner. Just need to sell the K9 header and the rear pegs and I'm back to normal

Why you selling the K9 headers mate.? Their titanium and a lot lighter than the L2 ones

Nix the L3 header is one full welded system until my barracuda exhaust, without a link pipe that fits it's just not happening and making ones out of my skill range. someone got a bargain cos the headers and servo went for 80 bucks, most are silly prices on eBay
