Rear brake advice.... Well rearsets.

Ok have the Gilles on the gixxer.

Found a reasonably painless place to put them..... But they are damaging my swingarm - well the rear m/c where it connects is.....

Image

And it damages my link pipe....

Now I know I can turn the pin round on the m/c but don't think that will solve the issue..... I don't want to bend the link pipe.... Also need some sort of heat shielding as the lever gets too hot.... Any ideas ????

Re: Rear brake advice.... Well rearsets.

Caz, no love, they won't help with your knees, if anything they might make them worse as they raise your feet higher thereby bending your knees more. I find it a right bugger, but I only do TDs now so can live with it. And yes, I am old, slightly decrepit but not down and out.

You could try some riser plates, and set them lower than standard, maybe wort a shot.

Re: Rear brake advice.... Well rearsets.

I kinda thought the rearsets were to raise the pegs for track but sure someone said the set the legs further back so less bent knees.. anyways so what are riser plates that can be set lower? :goon:

I know i is a bit thick about things..... but if you keep your hips in the same place and move your feet back and up..... are you not bending the knee more - or has i caught the blonde gene ???

You can also set them further forward less stress through knee then...........

Think she needs to lower her feet a bit as well.

Yeah i am more comfortable at the bottom of mine, but that is hip related for me... guess would also work on knees.
