Anyone wanna help

Post by Mattzo27 » 24 Jul 2013, 20:43

Would a difference of 8mm make a difference on brake discs. So if discs 8mm smaller than whats on make a difference?

Reason I ask is my fzr has 298mm discs and I was looking for some and I came across some that are apparently for my bike but measure only 290mm. Does this make a difference or should I just stick to standard 298mm?

Thanks

Yes it affects how much of the disc is covered by the brake pads in the caliper .. .. how ever there is a member on here that has experince making spacers......

Spacers only work on radial fitment brakes, with axial brake calipers you don't have the luxury of moving them radially from the axis of the wheel, hence the name radial as opposed to axial. All I can suggest is you get the discs and calipers to suit, as you will loose brake disc contact area.

Go on the ebc website and find your disc number. If you put that part number in the top of the site you can see what other bikes had the same disks.

Lots of models of FZR were made and most parts do not fit the Foxeye.
